[11:43, 7/4/2025] Giulia Mazz: We begin in the Vatoliere area and continue along a gently sloping path until we reach the Church of the Madonna di Montevergine, a charming little church in the area known as “lo Schiappone.” In the Ischian dialect, “le Schiappe” are terraced plots of land cultivated with vines.

We then walk through a chestnut grove that provides us with shade, until we reach a path that skirts the mountain, offering a stunning view of the sea. We continue up the “Scarrupata,” a natural split in the mountain, and walk along its edge through vineyards until we spot Punta San Pancrazio. San Pancrazio is the patron saint of farmers and is celebrated in May.

At Piano Liguori, a breathtaking view awaits us, stretching from Capri to the Sorrentine Peninsula, from Mount Vesuvius to Procida. From the terrace of a local restaurant, while enjoying traditional dishes, we get a chance to better understand the local people, their traditions, and their simple, joyful way of life.

After a rustic snack accompanied by good local wine, we head through vineyards toward Campagnano. The trail is easy and lush with vegetation, with the sea on our right. We continue our walk through more vineyards, with a view of the Aragonese Castle of Ischia Ponte, until we reach the charming village of Campagnano, where our day discovering the flavors of the countryside comes to an end.
